As the UNHCR’s implementing partner of the project ‘Regional Support to the Marginalised Communities’, ‘Vaša prava Bosnia and Herzegovina’ attended a regional meeting in Skopje on 27 and 28 January 2011. In addition to UNHCR and ‘Vaša prava Bosnia and Herzegovina’, the meeting also gathered the representatives from Praxis (Serbia), CRP/K (Kosovo), Pravni centar (Montenegro), MYLA (Macedonia), as well as Human Rights Ombudsman (Croatia).
After the brief introduction and presentation about the results accomplished last year, the representatives of the above non-governmental organisations emphasized a necessity to amend the applicable Regional Memorandum on Understanding signed in 2009 under the sections pertaining to continuation of the regional cooperation and objectives to be achieved, when the participants reached an agreement about the nature of its amendments.
Under the Regional Memorandum on Understanding, the representatives of the non-governmental organisations provided for establishment of the Regional Coordination Body, which would ensure more effective activity coordination between the signatories of the Regional Memorandum on Understanding, i.e. facilitated exercise of human rights of the beneficiaries in the Western Balkans countries.
At the same time, it was also agreed that already set up Yahoo Group Rosiweb should serve as a unique overview of the national legislations, legal analyses in all areas of social life, judicial and administrative practices in the region, and also be a forum for exchange of useful information, opinions, commentaries and data.
The participants in the above meeting agreed to continue the successful cooperation in gathering the documentation required to exercise human rights of the beneficiaries, eradicating statelessness, regulating labour law and property rights relations, as well as the cooperation in preventing and curbing discrimination.
